In the morning of March 2, the press conference of Jinan Municipal Government was held in the Longao Building. During the conference, development status of women and children in the "12th Five-year Plan" period and overview of the five-year plan for the work of women and children in the "13th Five-year Plan" period were released.
As the conference released, the new plan will set 50 key indicators of 7 categories for development of women and 59 key indicators of 6 categories for development of children, further integrating the perspective of women and children and increasing the protection of women and children. Meanwhile, the plan requires to make adjustments in health care, preschool education and other aspects based on the new situations under "two-child policy" and urbanization development.

Liu Qin, Deputy Director of Jinan Municipal Working Committee on Children and Women and President of Jinan Municipal Women's Federation, introduced the development of the work on women and children during the "12th Five-year Plan" period in Jinan: By the end of 2015, 55 of 56 quantifiable indicators in the plan of women in the city had reached the standard, accounting for 98.2% of total indicators; 49 of 50 quantifiable indicators in the plan of children had reached the standard, accounting for 98% of total indicators. Jinan's performance of 12 indicators in the two plans ranked the first in the province, which means Jinan leads women and child development in the province.
During the "12th Five-year Plan" period, the city had invested totally 44.579 billion yuan of financial education funds, 330 million yuan of maternal and child health funds and 5.65 billion yuan of cultural facilities funds, continuing to optimize women's and children's survival and development environment.
During the "13th Five-year Plan" period, Jinan will implement a new five-year development plan for women and children. The plan will combine the plans for women and children for the first time, and add a field of "children and safety". It also proposes to develop third-party assessments. In terms of concrete measures, the plan proposes for the first time the measures like providing trainings for women who have given birth before they return to work and setting up "baby care rooms" in public places and companies that have many female employees.
