Jinan, capital city of Shandong province, played host to a Sino-German SME Cooperation & Communication Conference on Nov 1.

Under the theme of "Smart Synergy to Empower the Future", the conference was expected to promote the cooperation between China and Germany in terms of economy, trade, and culture.

Enterprises from home and abroad brought their high-quality projects to the conference looking for potential cooperation partners.

The event was jointly sponsored by the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology of the PRC and the Shandong Provincial Government. More than 170 guests from foreign countries were attracted to the conference, including Martin Schulz, former head of the European Parliament, and Rudolf Scharping, former Defense Minister of Germany. Wang Jiangping, Deputy Minister of the Industry and Information Technology, Wang Zhonglin, Party Secretary of Jinan city, and other top officials from China also attended.
