Jinan's environmental air quality condition has achieved further success in October. According to the environmental air quality status of key areas released by the Ministry of Ecology and Environment and the monitoring data released by the National Control Point, among the "2+26" cities in the Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei region and surrounding areas (hereinafter referred to as "2+26" cities) in October, Jinan ranked the lowest PM2.5 concentration, at 41 micrograms per cubic meter. In terms of year-on-year decline, Jinan ranked third, dropped by 26.8%.
According to the air quality report, the average concentration of PM2.5 in “2+26” cities in October ranged from 41-70 μg/m3, with an average of 54 μg/m3, decrease 11.5% year-on-year. The four cities with the lowest average PM2.5 concentration were Jinan, Beijing, Tianjin, and Jining (tied forde third), which were 41 μg/m3, 44 μg/m3, 47 μg/m3, and 47 μg/m3. The three cities with the highest concentration were Anyang, Kaifeng and Baoding, respectively, 70 μg/m3, 67 μg/m3 and 66 μg/m3.
From the perspective of improvement, the average concentration of PM2.5 in 21 cities of “2+26” cities decreased year-on-year, and the average concentration of PM2.5 in 20 cities met the progress requirements of the autumn and winter improvement goals; the top three cities of the decrease were Xingtai and Jinan, by 36.1%, 27.8% and 26.8% respectively. In seven cities, PM2.5 concentration increased year on year instead of decreasing, among which Anyang saw the largest increase with a year-on-year increase of 42.9%.
