The World's Best Spring Scenic Spot, occupying 3 square kilometers in Jinan, the capital of Shandong province, enjoys favorable location and transport. It is a 5A national scenic spot.

The spot consists of Moat River, Daming Lake, Baotu, Black Tiger and Five-dragon Pond springs and Baotu, Huancheng, Five-dragon Pond and Daming Lake parks. It boasts unique natural landscapes and profound historical and cultural heritages.

The core part of the scenic spot is Baotu Spring, which is known locally as the “Best Spring in the World”. Together with the other springs, water converges into the rivers and then flow into Daming Lake. The springs, rivers, lake and ancient walls and mansions from the Ming Dynasty (1368-1644) set each other off perfectly, creating a picturesque scene.

Thanks to its unique landscapes and culture, Jinan puts on a dozen cultural activities throughout the year, such as a Spring Festival temple fair, an autumn chrysanthemum exhibition, dragon boat races, a lotus flower festival, and an international winter swimming festival.

The springs in Jinan were included in the "world nature and culture heritage tentative list" in 2009. The moat sightseeing belt was selected as one of China top 10 recreation destinations by Qiu Shi magazine in 2011, and given the China Habitat Environment Award by the Ministry of Housing and Urban-Rural Development in 2012.
