Jinan is advancing R&D of quantum communication technologies and promoting its application in the fields of national defense, finance, government affairs, business, and equipment production.

Industrial foundation

The Shandong Institute of Quantum Science and Technology was established in Jinan in 2011. The city also built the Jinan quantum communication experimental network with an investment of 100 million yuan ($14.4 million). It is the world's first commercial quantum communication network and is now officially operational. Jinan is one of the four cities of national quantum development strategy layout.

With the support of Jinan Quantum Communication Science and Technology Park, the city is actively attracting renowned R&D institutions and promoting the application of quantum technology in the fields of national defense, finance, government affairs and commerce.
