New Asia-Europe freight train links Jinan, Hungary

A new Asia-Europe freight train route linking Jinan and Budapest, Hungary started service on Aug 6.

It is the third international cargo train route that Jinan opened this year following  new services to Moscow and the Republic of Belarus.

To date, the city has launched a total of five Asia-Europe freight routes, radiating to 12 countries in Europe and central Asia.

According to statistics from Jinan Port and Logistics Office, the city this year has launched a total of 82 trains on the Asia-Europe freight routes, carrying 65,000 tons of goods to date with a value of $155 million. These exceeded the sum of 2017 and 2018 in quantity, weight and value.

Jinan will give full play to the Asia-Europe freight trains to expand international trade in bulk commodities, officials said.

Furthermore, the city will increase the number of freight trains, improve the quality of train operations and strive to open new routes to Poland and Germany, they added.
