The first batch of green modern trolleybuses, a variety of zero-pollution vehicles in Jinan, East China's Shandong province, were put into operation on Jan 1.
The buses will run along the K103 route and will be a part of the city's rapid transit system, providing more convenient bus service for passengers.
With an investment of 2.9 billion yuan ($41.4 million), the Jinan green modern trolleybus project will be completed in 2022 and will include eight trolleybus lines spanning a total distance of 111.2 kilometers.
The green trolleybus project will help promote green energy and reduce urban pollution.
