An intelligent breeding cage for marine creatures named "Guobao No 1" was towed to the Bohai Sea on Oct 9.

The large bottom cage, 36 meters long and 36 meters wide, was supported by a whole-rubber buoy system designed and manufactured by Shandong Nanhai Airbag Engineering Co.

The Shandong Nanhai Airbag Engineering Co in Zhangqiu district, Jinan, Shandong province is a one-stop, full-service company specializing in airbag technology and inflatable rubber fenders.

Its products include marine gasbags, engineering gasbags, inflatable rubber fenders, and rubber buoys.

The 34 gasbags the company made for the "Guobao No 1" can provide a buoyancy capacity of 3,400 tons and are the first of their kind in China.

In addition, the company used its gasbag technology to help move the 5,600-ton shipwreck of "Nanhai No 1" from the Song Dynasty (960-1279) to the Maritime Silk Road Museum in 2017, which drew global attention.

The company will continue to provide more scientific floating support system programs for marine engineering and port projects, said Duan Qingling, CEO of the Shandong Nanhai Airbag Engineering Co.
