A Qilu Europe-Asia freight train operated by Shandong Hi-speed Group departed from Dongjia Town Station on Oct 16.

This year, a total of 1,200 freight trains departed from Shandong, a year-on-year increase of 46.3 percent.

The Eurasian freight train has been making significant contributions to the city's foreign trade in recent years.

In 2019, the train made 1,054 trips, a year-on-year increase of 185 percent and equal to twice the annual target set by the Shandong provincial government.

The Qilu Europe-Asia freight train currently offers 36 routes to 42 cities in 14 countries.
