Jinan, capital of eastern China's Shandong province, rolled out a plan on May 22 to support the development of the city's e-commerce and livestreaming industries with a series of measures.

The city will cultivate and introduce more than 20 nationally-renowned economic headquarters in the livestreaming and short video sectors, over 300 popular online brands, and 10,000 online celebrities in the next few years.

The local government will support several advantageous industries and featured products in the city and develop broadcasting clusters focusing on agricultural products, cultural and tourism products, and manufacturing products.

Preferential measures such as reducing rent will be carried out to attract more e-commerce companies.

A series of online activities including exhibitions, e-commerce festivals, and forums will be held to stimulate consumption.
