The first domestic intelligent biosafety laboratory, which was jointly developed by the Jinan Center for Disease Control and Prevention and the Qingdao-based Haier Biomedical, was completed and put into use on Aug 28.
The lab is equipped with the Haier cloud management system, which features intelligent terminal face recognition, real-time monitoring of environment and equipment, intelligent disinfection, and information recording.
The intelligent lab will take over the biosafety management tasks of researchers, allowing them to focus on R&D.
The launch of the lab marks a new stage of development for the city's CDC and represents a new era of automation and intelligent development for biosafety labs.
Two patent applications have been submitted for the lab's core technologies.
