Four international sister city gardens will be unveiled as part of efforts to strengthen Jinan's exchanges with sister cities, Tian Ying, director of the Jinan municipal foreign affairs office, said at a news conference on Dec 7.

The "Jinan international sister city garden project" was launched to build international gardens in the city to showcase iconic landscapes from Jinan's sister cities, as well as to create a healthier and more natural environment.

To date, a rose-themed garden featuring the style of Kazanlak, a city in Bulgaria, and a Lithuanian-style garden have been built. The construction of a Vantaa-style garden was also recently completed.

This year marks the 20th anniversary of the establishment of sister city relations between Jinan and Vantaa. The garden is a symbol of the importance of biodiversity and the harmonious coexistence between people and nature. It also represents the close friendship between Jinan and Vantaa.

Tian said that more sister city gardens, such as the Nizhny Novgorod-style garden and the Siem Reap-style garden, will be unveiled in the future.

"I hope local residents can visit these gardens in their leisure time and experience the charm of Jinan's sister cities," said Tian.
