The Ministry of Culture and Tourism released 10 national tourism routes themed around the Yellow River on June 3.

The routes focus on the natural scenery, historical culture, intangible heritages, revolutionary history of the Communist Party of China, and rural landscapes alongside the Yellow River. Several Jinan sites were included into the routes.

The city's Shandong Museum, the Daxinzhuang Relics site, and Dongpingling ancient town will help visitors explore the source of Chinese civilization alongside the Yellow River.

The Daxinzhuang Relics site is of great value in studying the history of the Shang Dynasty (c.16th century-11th century BC), as it is one of the places where the oracle bones of the Shang Dynasty were found.

Dongpingling ancient town dates back to the Warring States Period (475-221 BC). Here, visitors can learn about the development history of Chinese iron ware.

Jinan Campaign Memorial Hall has been selected as one of the sites in the red tourism route. Here, people can learn about the history of Communist Party of China. The Jinan Campaign took place from Sept 16 to 24, 1948.
