A version of the Quancheng NFC transport card that supports ApplePay was released on July 13 in Jinan, Shandong province.

The card, which features Near Field Communication or NFC technology, allows passengers to pay with their cellphones when taking buses or metros.

The iPhone version only works on iOS 14.5 or above.

The card for Android smartphones was launched six months ago. The iPhone version is first of its kind in Shandong province. Officials said the discounts for NFC transport cards are the same as the actual cards.
