The East Asia Art and Culture Season is an important cultural project that helps accelerate regional cultural exchanges and tourism development, said Zhi Liang, director of the Jinan culture and tourism bureau.

The event will also serve as an important way to strengthen cultural exchanges between China, Japan and South Korea, and bolster its reputation as the 2022 Culture City of East Asia, according to Zhi.

Jinan passed the final review of the 2022 Culture City of East Asia in May. As the selected city, Jinan will carry out a wide range of cultural activities to participate in cultural cooperation with East Asian countries, stimulate urban vitality, and expand the city's international reputation.

The title of Culture City of East Asia is an important achievement that is determined by China, Japan, and South Korea. Since 2013, a total of 23 cities have been elected in the three countries. In China, Quanzhou, Qingdao, Ningbo, and several other cities have received this honor.
