Tianqiao district was named after the overpass that stretches across the Qingdao-Jinan and Tianjin-Shanghai railway lines. It is located in northern Jinan, straddling the banks of the Yellow River. Covering an area of 258.97 sq km, it governs 15 sub-districts, 148 communities and 120 administrative villages. By the end of 2021, the district achieved a regional GDP of 64.26 billion yuan, a year-on-year growth of 8.5 percent.
