Jinan Start-up Area for Growth Drivers Transformation set its development goals for 2022 at a news conference on Feb 13.

The area's regional GDP is expected to increase by over 12 percent in 2022 while the general public budget revenue is expected to increase by over 20 percent. Investment in fixed assets will increase by over 30 percent, and the added value of industries above designated size will increase by around 9 percent by the end of this year.

The Jinan Start-up Area of Growth and Drivers Transformation was approved by the State Council on April 25, 2021. The area will focus on developing modern manufacturing, modern services and cultural industries to help the city's high-quality development.

Last year, the area has made significant development. Agreements for 33 projects covering the new energy vehicle industry and other high-end sectors have been signed, with an investment totaling 76.96 billion yuan ($12.11 billion). The Yellow River Jiluo Road Tunnel and the Fenghuang Yellow River Bridge were also completed and put into operation, indicating that infrastructure projects are progressing.
