With 5G technologies changing industries and creating new value for the world, more efforts are needed to focus on demand in real scenarios and drive 5G's applications, said Ma Bo, a deputy to the 13th National People's Congress.
This year, he submitted two motions, one of which is to promote the wide use of 5G technology in more sectors.
"I suggest to further promote the application of 5G technology and gigabit fiber-optic networks in industrial fields, especially in the scenarios of government management service platforms, intelligent manufacturing and smart homes," said Ma, who is also vice-general manager of China Unicom Laiwu branch in Jinan.
The 5G technology is proved to provide strong technological support in helping cities become smarter, Ma said.
Ma has actively advocated the use of 5G technology in numerous industrial applications in recent years. In a 5G remote video bank initiative, the company collaborated with Laishang Bank. Interactive video, 5G technology and AI technologies have been used to provide service online.
As the leading telecom operator in Jinan, China Unicom has significant advantages in providing infrastructure related to mobile communication networks, cloud computing, big data, internet of things and artificial intelligence, he added.
