Xin Qiji

Xin Qiji, courtesy name You'an, literary name Jiaxuan, was born in Licheng district, Jinan in May, 1140.

Jiaxuan Ci, or Xin Jiaxuan Memorial Hall, is located at Daming Lake Park. Its plaque was inscribed by Marshal Chen Yi (1900-72), whose calligraphy matches Xin Qiji's military life and experience.

Xin Qiji was born in Sifengzha village. The main gate of his hometown is a four-pillar stone pagoda inscribed with the five Chinese characters meaning "Xin Qiji's hometown", which were written by Chinese calligrapher Wu Zhongqi.The Xin Qiji Memorial Hall was opened in 1998. Covering an area of 1.9 hectares, the memorial hall has a pavilion featuring the ancient architectural style of the Song Dynasty (960-1279), a statue of Xin Qiji, a stele gallery, a memorial hall and an exhibition room. There are more than 30 precious historical pictures and handwritings of Xin Qiji, as well as a photocopy of his only existing calligraphy work Qu Guo Tie.
