Lixia Pavilion is one of Jinan's renowned pavilions and is located on Lixia Pavilion Island at the Daming Lake scenic area. It was recognized as a municipal-level cultural protection unit in 1979. The first record of Lixia Pavilion was mentioned in the ancient book Shui Jing Zhu, or Commentary on the Water Classic, by Li Daoyuan during the Northern Wei Dynasty (386-534) as "Keting Pavilion", which was the predecessor of Lixia Pavilion.

Lixia Pavilion has a wooden railing around the pavilion, a stone-carved lotus-shaped table and stools inside the pavilion for visitors to rest. Under the eaves of the pavilion is a red plaque written with gold Chinese characters, which were inscribed by Emperor Qianlong during the Qing Dynasty (1644-1911).
