The ruby apricot, also known as the "golden apricot", is mainly produced in Jinan city's Licheng and Changqing districts. It has been cultivated for more than 2,000 years. Its skin and flesh are orangish red and tender, and its pulp tastes sweet and sour, and is highly storable. One of the key exports from Shandong province is the ruby apricot.
