Why Jinan: Location & Transportation

Jinan is adjacent to Beijing, Tianjin, and Hebei to the north, the Yangtze River Delta to the south, and the Bohai Economic Circle to the east. It is a hub on the Beijing-Shanghai high-speed railway.

1. Land Transportation

A sprawling high-speed railway network is taking shape.

Over 300 high-speed trains go directly to 254 cities across China every day, ranking second in China. Travel time to Beijing and Shanghai was reduced to 1 hour 22 minutes and 3 hours, respectively.

Jinan West Railway Station (Jinanxi Railway Station) is one of the 5 major stations along Beijing-Shanghai High-Speed Railway.

The freight train services to Europe and Asia are provided for more than 40 cities in 18 countries involved in the Belt and Road Initiative.

2. Air Transportation

Jinan Yaoqiang International Airport is an important airport in China, with 204 flight routes linking 120 domestic and foreign cities, among which 32 cities are in Hong Kong, Macao, Taiwan and many international countries and regions. In 2020, the airport handled 12.385 million passengers and freight of 147,000 tons. A 4F class international airport

3. International Inland Port

An international inland port is planned to be built and the port cluster along the Xiaoqing River is under accelerated construction, which will directly reach the Bohai Bay, shaping a golden waterway with combined river-sea transportation.

A road-railway-air-water network will be completed and put into operation in 2025, shaping a basically complete three-dimensional multimodal transport system.
