Mingshui fragrant rice is a local specialty in Jinan's Zhangqiu district, and was also added to the list of Chinese geographical indication agricultural products.

Mingshui fragrant rice grows abundantly on the banks of Baimai Spring in Mignshui subdistrict. The paddy fields are nurtured all year round by Baimai Spring water. Its grains are yellowish, translucent, big, transparent and bright color. The rice tastes very refreshing, and its fragrance is pleasing to the appetite, so Jinan locals commonly call it "fragrant rice". It also has a high nutritional value.
