A new McDonald's outlet restaurant officially opened in Jinan, capital of Shandong province, on Oct 7. The flagship store is also China's 2,300th LEED (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) certified restaurant.

Located in the Quancheng Road business circle, the restaurant covers an area of nearly 391 square meters and has 71 seats, adopting the futuristic Ray design style, creating a minimalist, industrial, and modern dining environment.

A highlight of this McDonald's restaurant is the environmentally friendly charging bicycles where diners can charge their phones by pedaling on the bicycles. This also marked the first time McDonald's in Jinan has featured a family-friendly version of environmentally friendly charging bicycles.

The restaurant provides Forest Stewardship Council certified paper packaging bags, straw-free cups, and biodegradable plastic beverage bags.

To celebrate the opening, the restaurant will also hold a check-in activity for limited edition green souvenirs from Oct 9 to 22. During this time, customers who purchase certain products at the restaurant will receive a free McDonald's environmental bag.
