Located at the foot of Qianfo Mountain, the Jinan Museum was founded in 1958 and was rated as a national first-class museum in 2020.
The museum boasts a collection of over 200,000 cultural relics, including rare artifacts from the Neolithic Age, the Shang Dynasty (c.16th century-11th century BC), the Spring and Autumn Period (770-476 BC), the Warring States Period (475-221 BC), and the Western Han Dynasty (206 BC-AD 24).
In line with the theme of International Museum Day, the Jinan Museum has launched a series of activities, including themed exhibitions, educational activities, and free appraisal of antiques.
From May 18 until the end of September, an exhibition featuring cultural artifacts related to the imperial examination culture and top scholars during the Ming (1368-1644) and Qing (1644-1911) dynasties will be held.
From May 18 to June 4, an exhibition showcasing articles of daily use from the Ming and Qing dynasties literati will be held.
An ongoing exhibition featuring censers at the Jinan Museum will run until the end of December.
