The Jinan-1 quantum micro-nano satellite is being displayed at the Shandong Digital Development Achievement Exhibition during the World Internet Conference Nishan Dialogue on Digital Civilization, which commenced on June 25 and will run until June 27 in Qufu, Jining, Shandong province.

The satellite, the first of its kind in the world, was launched into space in July 2022. The satellite will lay the foundation for an integrated quantum network that will bridge the gap between space and ground, according to Lin Zengsen, an optics engineer of Jinan Institute of Quantum Technology.

"The satellite shows the world how advanced we are in industrializing or commercializing quantum communication," Lin added.

The Shandong Digital Development Achievement Exhibition will also showcase cutting-edge intelligent manufacturing products from Shandong province that demonstrates the prowess of the province's digital capabilities.
