Jiyang district
Jiyang district is located in the southern part of the northwestern plain of Shandong province, leaning against the Yellow River in the south, bordering Qihe River in the west, Linyi and Shanghe in the north, and Huimin in the east. It is 30 kilometers away from downtown Jinan and 8 kilometers away from Jinan Yaoqiang International Airport.
Jiyang district has a warm temperate semi-humid monsoon climate: four distinct seasons, rain and heat in the same season, sufficient light, an average annual temperature of 14 C, and an annual rainfall of about 500 mm.
Jiyang district has a provincial-level high-tech development zone and a provincial-level Taiwan industrial park. Jiyang district has formed three leading industries for food and beverage, equipment manufacturing, and modern logistics, and is home to top domestic and foreign enterprises such as Want Want, Dali Foods Group, Uni-President, Gengchen Steel & Iron Co, Jiayi Logistics, and Shanghai Yupei Group. The district has been recognized as the first provincial food industry base in the province, a strong national food industry county, a national torch characteristic industry base, and the hometown of China's hydraulic lifting platform.
The district is steeped in history and houses 20 ancient cultural sites, including Western Zhou Dynasty noble tombs and the Yuhuang Mound, and the famous Confucius Wenshao Platform site. Its black pottery craftsmanship and drum yangko dance are also well-known. The district has a flat terrain, fertile lands, large reserves of oil, coal, natural gas, and geothermal resources.
In 2023, Jiyang achieved a regional GDP of 26.85 billion yuan ($3.74 billion) with a year-on-year increase of 7.2 percent.
