Changqing district
Situated in the southwestern part of Jinan, Changqing district has Mount Tai to the south and borders the Yellow River to the west. The district is named after the Great Wall of Ancient Qi State and the Qingshui River within its boundaries.
Changqing district is renowned for its stunning ecological environment. Majestic mountains dominate the southern part, while the Yellow River, North Dasha River, and South Dasha River traverse the district from south to north. With its abundant and high-quality water resources, the district serves as a crucial water conservation and groundwater supply area for the city. It has been recognized as a national greening model district and an advanced district of ecological civilization in Shandong province.
The district is steeped in history and houses six national-level officially protected monuments and sites and 11 A-level scenic spots, including the Great Wall of Ancient Qi State Site, the Xiaotang Mountain Guo Family Ancestral Hall, and Lingyan Temple.
Changqing district has a prime location as it is situated at the intersection of the Beijing-Shanghai High-Speed Railway and Jinan-Zhengzhou High-Speed Railway. The Beijing-Taipei Expressway, Jinan-Guangzhou Expressway, and several national and provincial highways crisscross the district, with the Changqing Yellow River Bridge spanning east to west. The district also houses the Jinan-Zhengzhou High-Speed Railway Changqing Station.
Home to 13 universities, including Shandong Normal University, Shandong University of Traditional Chinese Medicine, and Qilu University of Technology, Changqing district boasts a strong educational foundation.
The district has a robust industrial base and is home to 203 industrial enterprises above designated size, including five national-level little giant enterprises and single champion demonstration enterprises in the manufacturing industry. There are also 167 specialized, high-end, and innovation-driven enterprises with distinctive products or services at or above the municipal level, 45 gazelle enterprises at or above the municipal level, and 203 construction enterprises, including four enterprises with special general contracting qualifications.
Changqing district's GDP reached 40.04 billion yuan ($5.57 billion) in 2023, with an increase of 3.1 percent over the previous year.
