Located in the northwest of Cambodia, Siem Reap province covers an area of 10,299 square kilometers and has a population of 946,560.

The second-largest economic province in the country, Siem Reap's pillar industries are tourism, agriculture, and fisheries. The province also has a thriving construction materials industry.

Siem Reap province has abundant tourism resources and a large number of relics and historical sites. There are 292 ancient temples in the province. The renowned Angkor Archaeological Park, one of the seven wonders of the world recognized by UNESCO, is located 6 kilometers north of the provincial capital, Siem Reap city, and attracts 2 million visitors annually.

Jinan has started friendly exchanges and cooperation with Siem Reap province since 2014. The two sides have since made progress in governmental, trade, agriculture and education cooperation. In 2015, both sides signed a memorandum of understanding to officially establish friendly cooperation relations.
