Jinan unveils measures to attract talents for rural vitalization
Jinan, the capital of East China's Shandong province, recently unveiled 21 measures to attract more talents to promote rural vitalization.
The city is aiming to attract more than 10,000 innovative "new farmers" to serve as leaders in rural industries by 2025. It will also strive to train around 20,000 youths to spearhead rural vitalization in rural areas, encourage at least 3,000 young university graduates around the age of 30 to return to villages to work or become entrepreneurs, and ensure there is at least one university graduate in each village.
It is also aiming to train more than 1,000 rural technicians, foster a group of capable leaders who can govern and develop the countryside, attract about 4,000 talents from outside to enrich the village leadership teams, and have at least three reserve candidates for village cadres in each village.
In May last year, Jinan focused on consolidating overall efforts to promote rural vitalization. To this end, the city promoted 2,237 first Party secretaries, 1,503 corporate groups, and 2,429 assistance pairing projects to build a collaborative assistance system with the parallel selection of "financial commissioners", "legal commissioners,", "technology consultants", and "cultural consultants" for rural vitalization.
At present, the city has integrated 475 million yuan ($66.4 million) worth of various funds and implemented 3,432 livelihood and industrial projects in assisted villages, effectively improving the collective income of villages and the income of farmers.
