Jinan promotes development of low-altitude economy
The Jinan Low Altitude Economic Development Group, wholly funded by the Jinan Energy Group with a registered capital of 500 million yuan ($70.57 million), was recently established in Jinan, Shandong province.
This initiative highlights the city's efforts to develop its low-altitude economy.
The low-altitude economy focuses on aviation activity using manned and unmanned aerial vehicles, such as passenger transportation, air tourism and cargo delivery, in airspace at altitudes of up to 1,000 meters.
Jinan Energy Group Co is a large state-owned energy enterprise at the municipal level, approved by the Jinan Municipal Government.
According to Pan Shiying, president of Jinan Energy Group, this initiative aims to further promote the high-quality development of low-altitude economic industries in Jinan.
The goal is to create a comprehensive platform for low-altitude economic and industrial development that integrates low-altitude flight services, general aviation operations, airport management, and aviation intelligence in Jinan, according to Pan.
The Jinan Low Altitude Economic Development Group will take overall responsibility for the construction, operation, and management of Jinan's low-altitude economy. It will focus on the fields of low-altitude operations, air traffic control, airport management, and aviation manufacturing and create a new business model of low altitude with other industries.
