Jinan issues regulations on promoting digital economy

Jinan, capital of East China's Shandong province released regulations on promoting the development of the digital economy, which will take effect on Jan 1, 2025, according to a news conference held by the Jinan municipal government on Dec 18.

The move is part of the city's efforts to foster the high-quality development of Jinan's digital economy.

The regulations consist of seven chapters, addressing general provisions and guidelines for the development of digital infrastructure, digital industrialization, public services, and data utilization.

According to the regulations, enterprises, institutions, trade associations, and individuals are encouraged to actively engage in the city's digital economic development. More efforts will be made to strengthen regional exchanges and cooperation in the digital economy and promote the coordinated development of the sector.

This year, Jinan has emphasized project construction as crucial to the advancement of its digital economy. The city has started planning over 30 digital economy industrial projects, focusing on key areas such as big data, cloud computing, blockchain, and artificial intelligence.
