China has expanded its visa-free policy to include an additional 21 ports, with Jinan Yaoqiang International Airport among them, according to the National Immigration Administration on Dec 17. The maximum duration of stay for foreign nationals eligible for visa-free transit has been extended from the previous 72 hours and 144 hours to 240 hours (10 days).

This policy change offers international travelers significantly more time to explore Jinan, enhancing the city's appeal as a tourist destination.

Jinan, capital of Shandong province, is attracting a large number of foreign individuals to do business, work, study, and travel. Expats and international enterprises have emerged as vital contributors to the city's economic development, cultural exchanges, and social progress.

Local authorities are expanding the city's tourism offerings, recently launching 38 high-end, personalized tourism products which are designed to attract visitors from key international markets, including South Korea, Japan, and Singapore.

Jinan's tourism industry has already shown impressive growth this year, with a 97 percent year-on-year increase in inbound tourism-related reservations during the May Day holiday. With its improved services and expanded airport infrastructure, Jinan is poised to become an internationally recognized travel destination, further stimulating its tourism economy and positioning Shandong as a key player in global tourism.
