Jinan Innovation Zone in Jinan, the capital of East China's Shandong province, has boasted a talent pool exceeding 360,000 professionals, providing solid support for constructing a world-class high-tech industrial park, according to a press conference held by the city's government on July 18.

Speaking at the press conference, Chen Anbiao, deputy director of the management committee of the innovation zone, said that the high-tech zone is building a talent hub to contribute to developing a modern, prosperous, and advanced provincial capital.

The innovation zone has implemented various policies and established a comprehensive talent development system to enhance talent-driven development. It has also strengthened relationships with academic institutions and research organizations. The zone has attracted industry-leading companies to collaborate with prestigious universities and research institutes, further promoting talent cultivation and platform construction.

By focusing on talent demands and implementing tailored policies, the innovation zone has significantly supported talent development and industrial growth. It has organized innovation and entrepreneurship competitions, initiated collaborations with universities, and stimulated the vitality of talent through market services.

Currently, the innovation zone has industrial clusters of over 10 billion yuan ($1.4 billion) in the three major industries of new-generation information technology, intelligent equipment, and biomedicine. It has also made forward-looking layouts in the aerospace and quantum information industries. By national standards, it has attracted more than 110 talent carriers such as academicians, expert workstations, and post-doctoral research workstations.

Looking ahead, Chen said that the innovation zone plans to integrate into the talent development strategy of Shandong province, strengthen the role of talent-driven initiatives, and further promote the construction of a talent-led high-tech zone.
