The second China (Jinan) High-Caliber Talent Attraction Conference was held on Sept 20 at the Shandong International Convention and Exhibition Center in Jinan, Shandong province.

Over 2,000 employers participated, including state-owned enterprises, universities, research institutes, new R&D institutions, medical organizations, financial institutions, public institutions, high-tech companies, and specialized and innovative enterprises. They offered more than 30,000 high-quality jobs.

The conference has set up areas focusing on key provincial and municipal projects, public institutions, and state-owned enterprises and covering fields related to big data and next-generation information technology, smart manufacturing and high-end equipment.

The talent attraction conference provided an efficient communication platform for employers, saving costs and time in talent recruitment and enhancing recruitment efficiency, said Liu Chaoli, deputy director of the Human Resources Department at the Jinan Supercomputing Technology Research Institute.

The institute plans to focus on developing an ecosystem for the supercomputing industry, with an emphasis on attracting top scientists and renowned professors from the fields of computer technology and computer applications, according to Liu.

Jinan, as one of the first pilot cities for youth development in China and a leading city for youth-friendly initiatives in Shandong province, has consistently integrated youth development into its overall economic and social strategy. The total number of talents in Jinan has now surpassed 2.84 million, with over 160,000 new young talents emerging in 2023, ranking first in Shandong province.
