Hanmeilin Art Museum unveiled in Jinan
The Jinan Hanmeilin Art Museum opened in Jinan, Shandong province on Jan 9. It is the fifth Hanmeilin Art Museum in China, following those in the cities of Hangzhou in Zhejiang province, Beijing, Yinchuan in Ningxia Hui autonomous region, and Yixing in Jiangsu province.
The art museum, located at Jinan's Quancheng Square, spans an area of approximately 13,300 square meters. It features 10 exhibition halls, displaying nearly 1,300 works made by renowned Chinese artist Han Meilin. These works cover art forms such as calligraphy, painting, sculpture, and ceramics, offering a rich experience in both visual and design arts, as well as public art and urban landscapes.
At the opening ceremony, Han expressed his gratitude, calling it an emotional moment to present his work to the people of his hometown, Jinan, for the first time.
Han, born in 1936 in Jinan, Shandong province, is a renowned Chinese painter, sculptor, and designer. He is also widely known for creating the Fuwa mascots for the 2008 Beijing Summer Olympics.
The museum will serve as an important platform for enhancing cultural exchanges, promoting education, and contributing to the innovative development of traditional Chinese culture, a local official said.
