18th Jinan Municipal People's Congress opens fourth session
The fourth session of the 18th Jinan Municipal People's Congress convened at the Xueye Lake International Conference Center in Jinan on Jan 13, with 507 delegates in attendance.
Jinan Mayor Yu Haitian presented the city's government work report, highlighting achievements the local government has made over the last year.
According to the report, the city made significant progress in economic and social development in 2024, with the city's gross domestic product rising by nearly 5.5 percent over the previous year.
The report also outlined the city's development goals in 2025. The city is aiming for a GDP growth rate of 5.5 percent, a year-on-year increase of approximately 6.5 percent in its added value of industrial enterprises above designated size, and a 3 percent growth rate in general public budget revenue in 2025, according to the report.
Yu stated that 2025 marks the final year of the 14th Five-Year Plan period (2021–25) and serves as a critical year for accelerating the development of Jinan as a strong provincial capital.
Jinan will leverage key strategies, including the ecological conservation and high-quality development in the Yellow River Basin and the establishment of Shandong's green, low-carbon, high-quality development pilot zone to drive the city's high-quality development, Yu said.
