Jinan sets ambitious goals for digital development in 2025
Jinan will work to advance the integration of digital technologies and the real economy to drive the city's high-quality development, according to the city's government work report released at the fourth session of the 18th Jinan Municipal People's Congress on Jan 13.
Key initiatives involve bolstering digital infrastructure by establishing a provincial-level data center hub, advancing next-generation network infrastructure development – including future networks and satellite navigation systems – and increasing the number of 5G base stations to 60,000.
In addition, the city will accelerate the digitalization of its industries, enhance the capabilities of its software powerhouses, nurture over 70 top-100 software enterprises at the provincial level or higher, develop more than 50 first-edition high-end software products, and achieve a software business revenue of 630 billion yuan ($85.92 billion).
More efforts will be made to promote the digital transformation of industries such as equipment manufacturing, biomedicine, and metallurgy.
