Jinan airport passenger volume hits record high in 2024
The annual passenger throughout of Jinan Yaoqiang International Airport exceeded 20 million by the end of 2024, a record high for the airport.
This achievement is attributed to the airport's efforts to strengthen air connectivity and accelerate the development of its aviation business, with multiple passenger and cargo transport indicators reaching new highs.
In 2024, the airport's annual passenger volume, flight frequency, and cargo volume are expected to exceed 20 million, 144,000, and 153,000 metric tons, respectively, with year-on-year growth of 13.9 percent, 6.6 percent, and 6.3 percent.
The airport has actively opened new domestic routes and expanded flights to international hub cities, enhancing its route network connectivity. Currently, the airport operates 171 routes to 95 cities. Daily flights to cities such as Chengdu, Shenzhen, Chongqing, Guangzhou, Kunming, Urumqi, and Changsha exceed 10 each. The airport also operates international routes to destinations like Sydney, Osaka, Seoul, Singapore, Bangkok, Nha Trang, and Phuket.
In 2024, the airport also promoted the integration of aviation and tourism by strengthening cooperation with major airlines and travel agencies. It organized both online and offline promotional activities, showcasing tourism routes in campuses and scenic areas. Additionally, roadshows were held in cities like Weifang, Chongqing, and Changchun, further boost both aviation business and cultural tourism.
