Huaiyin district secures steady growth in 2024
Huaiyin district in Jinan saw steady economic growth in 2024, according to the district's government work report released on Jan 8.
The district's GDP is expected to grow by approximately 4 percent over the previous year, while its total retail sales of consumer goods are projected to reach 55.8 billion yuan ($7.61 billion). Additionally, 20,372 new market entities were registered throughout 2024.
Great progress has been made in the construction of major projects related to industries, livelihood, and infrastructure. Two major medical projects have been completed and are now in use, namely the Jinan Microecological Biomedical Laboratory and the Shandong First Medical University Medical Science and Technology Innovation Center. Four provincial-level, 30 municipal-level, and 106 projects for green, low-carbon and high-quality development have all exceeded their annual investment targets.
Meanwhile, significant progress was made in attracting investment, targeting leading enterprises and key supporting companies in the industrial chain. A total of 60 investment promotion events were held, with agreements for 283 projects signed.
In addition, the cultural tourism industry in Huaiyin district continued to thrive in 2024. The district's A-level tourist attractions received 39.15 million visitors, generating 1.75 billion yuan in revenue.
