Spring water cultivation brings new vitality to Jinan's countryside
Spring-water-cultivated jin'er, or golden fungus, was displayed on Oct 11 at the Jinan Doumu Spring scenic area, marking the launch of the "Explore Jinan through its waters" event.
Tie Lei, first Party secretary of Xinglong No 2 village, introduced the product to participants, "Spring-water-cultivated jin'er is plump, gelatinous, and golden-yellow in color. It is cultivated using water from Doumu Spring."
Jin'er is an edible fungus rich in fat, protein, and trace elements such as phosphorus, calcium, and potassium. The water from Doumu Spring, one of the 72 famous springs in Jinan, is treated and used for humidification. Cultivated in an intelligent, sterile, temperature-controlled cabin, golden fungus' mineral content and flavor are significantly enhanced.
"Spring-water-cultivated jin'er, valued for its high nutritional content and popularity, has significantly boosted the income of rural residents," Tie added. "Building on jin'er, the village has established partnerships with local universities and launched e-commerce training programs, supporting entrepreneurship and employment."
Meanwhile, an agricultural support program was launched to foster a comprehensive rural vitalization system integrating culture, science and technology, finance, ecology, and industry.
Co-initiated by the Jinan Cultural Industry Technology Innovation Alliance of Spring and Jinan Aerial Photography Association, the "Explore Jinan through its waters" event will use drones to film Jinan's quality products along its rivers and springs, showcasing the city's achievements in rural vitalization.
The program also features news conferences, expert surveys, and spring-related events, bringing water-related culture and industries into communities, schools, and villages.
