China International Children's Film Festival kicks off in Jinan
The 18th China International Children's Film Festival opened in Jinan, Shandong province on Oct 15, offering a platform for global children's filmmakers to connect and showcasing Jinan's appeal to the world.
Running through Oct 21, the festival features 60 carefully selected films from China and abroad, spanning multiple genres and age groups, alongside dozens of interactive events designed to engage young audiences.
Screenings during the festival include 29 children's films from China and 31 films from countries such as Germany and Russia and eight classic films celebrating 120 years of Chinese cinema. A special section highlights films that integrate cutting-edge technology.
In addition to screenings, the interactive activities invite children to take part in award selections, dubbing, and hosting sessions. Many of the children gave remarkable performances during the opening ceremony. Huaiyin district is also hosting immersive experiences such as script readings, encouraging young audiences to engage in hands-on creative activities.
The city will also organize high-quality forums and events to promote Chinese children's films globally and foster cultural exchanges.
