Jinan recognized again with Asia-Pacific Smart City Award
Jinan, capital of Shandong province, received the 2025 Asia-Pacific Smart City Award at the 27th China Hi-tech Fair in Shenzhen on Nov 15, marking the second consecutive year the city has earned the honor.
This year's award recognizes Jinan alongside Shanghai, Shenzhen, Wuhan, Tianjin, and Shijiazhuang, making it one of only two cities in China – and just three in the Asia-Pacific region – to win the award two years in a row.
Jointly launched by the State Information Center and ADG, the Asia-Pacific Smart City Awards are among the region's most influential honors. The awards aim to highlight outstanding projects, enterprises, and leaders in smart city development and provide exemplary models for future progress.
In recent years, Jinan has accelerated its citywide digital transformation and achieved notable progress in developing a high-quality digital economy. The city has strengthened its digital infrastructure, advanced market-oriented data allocation reforms, and expanded data applications across a diverse array of sectors. It has also been honored with the China Smart City Award for six years in a row, underscoring its growing leadership in smart city development.
