Jinan hosted two winter tourism promotions in Guangzhou and Zhuhai cities, Guangdong province, on Dec 11-12, strengthening cooperation between the city and the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area.

Guangdong has been a major source of winter visitors for Jinan, said Sun Jing, deputy director of the Jinan municipal bureau of culture and tourism during the promotional event. Sun added that despite their different strengths, Jinan, Guangzhou, and Zhuhai complement each other in cultural and tourism resources. The promotions aimed to foster collaboration and facilitate two-way visitor flows among the three cities.

The events highlighted 10 key attractions in Jinan, such as Baotu Spring, Jiuru Mountain, Lingyan Temple, and Mingshui Ancient Town, highlighting the city's winter appeal. They also featured diverse cultural and tourism offerings across the city's districts and counties, including hot springs and signature products.

Intangible cultural heritage-themed markets were held during the promotions, featuring colorful folk art, traditional snacks, and creative cultural products inspired by Jinan's heritage, which captivated visitors and offered them a taste of the city's culinary delights as well as a glimpse into its rich history and diverse cultural traditions.

To strengthen tourism, Jinan's key attractions partnered with cultural and tourism enterprises in Guangzhou and Zhuhai. Shandong Airlines also offered special services, providing travelers with more flexible options.
