Jinan, capital of East China's Shandong province, has been pushing forward the construction of major projects in its 2025 plan.

According to a recent local press conference, a total of 135 projects in Jinan have been selected as provincial key projects for 2025, with a total investment of 507.12 billion yuan ($69.9 billion). Jinan has also arranged 550 municipal key projects for this year, including 500 projects currently in progress with a total investment of 1.14 trillion yuan and 50 projects in the preparatory stages with a total investment of 376.6 billion yuan.

Jinan also recently announced a series of measures regarding project construction in 2025, clearly defining project construction as crucial to its overall development.

The city will also plan and implement a number of projects covering key areas such as intelligent manufacturing, big data and new-generation information technology, high-quality steel and advanced materials, biomedicine, and health, with special emphasis on enhancing the overall competitiveness of industrial chains to raise the city's economic development level and competitiveness.

Pang Jing, a professor at Shandong University of Finance and Economics, said that major projects can stimulate investment and promote sustained economic growth. According to Pang, major projects will also drive the development of related industries and increase employment, injecting new vitality into the economic and social development of Jinan.
