Jinan, capital of Shandong province, saw 73 major projects with an investment of 74 billion yuan ($10.2 billion) break ground on Feb 24.

The projects are among the 1,006 projects that have begun construction this year in Shandong, with a total investment of 1.04 trillion yuan.

Among the major projects in Jinan, 45 key industrial initiatives are set to receive an annual planned investment of 160 billion yuan. They focus on critical sectors such as big data and next-generation information technology, intelligent manufacturing and high-end equipment, premium steel and advanced materials, and biopharmaceuticals and healthcare.

Additionally, 11 infrastructure projects will see an annual planned investment of 76 billion yuan, while 17 projects aimed at improving livelihood security will be allocated 45 billion yuan.

This year, Jinan will step up efforts to advance project construction by improving support in project planning, construction, services, and resource allocation.
