Shanghe county in Jinan recently signed a cooperation agreement with the International Education School of Shandong University of Finance and Economics in an effort to promote the county's intangible cultural heritage worldwide.
A traditional Chinese culture practice base was unveiled as part of the partnership, aimed at enhancing cultural exchange, ICH education, and creative cultural development.
The base will serve as a platform for joint initiatives such as heritage education programs for international students, cultural workshops, and creative innovation projects.
In recent years, Shanghe has placed heavy emphasis on talent exchange and mutual learning related to intangible cultural heritage. Shanghe Drum Yangko, a traditional folk dance from Shanghe, has gradually gained international recognition, with cultural exchange activities held in more than 10 countries, including South Korea, Japan, Sweden, Australia, New Zealand, and Indonesia.
