A group of 30 doctoral students from top universities including the University of Hong Kong, University of Macau, and Macau University of Science and Technology visited Jinan's cutting-edge technology and industrial hubs, including the International Medical Center and DIM International Industrial Park, on June 12.

Wang Rui, a doctoral student in neurobiology at the University of Hong Kong, praised the long-term value of Jinan's high-end medical development and was impressed by the city's comprehensive infrastructure during a visit to the Proton Center of Shandong Cancer Hospital. He noted that while space is limited in Hong Kong and Macao, Jinan offers vast development potential, making it ideal for deep industrial collaboration across the supply chain.

Genetics PhD student Liu Dongyao from University of Hong Kong said that Jinan's talent-friendly policies, including stable housing support and competitive salaries, make the city attractive for employment. He also showed interest in local research facilities, such as the State Key Laboratory of Microbial Technology at Shandong University.

Deng Chenheng, a doctoral student in artificial intelligence at Macau University of Science and Technology, also expressed confidence in Jinan's potential, noting that the city's strong push for talent development and its abundant research and teaching opportunities effectively meet the employment needs of PhD graduates.

Jinan, the capital of Shandong province, is rapidly emerging as one of China's most dynamic talent hubs, driven by robust economic growth, forward-looking policies, and an innovation-oriented culture. In 2024, the city's total talent pool surpassed 2.87 million.
