Pingyin hosts talent innovation event to advance rose industry
The high-level talent collaborative innovation event was held in Pinying county, known as the "capital of rose", in East China's Shandong province on June 20 to provide solid support for high-quality growth of the rose industry.
Experts and scholars from institutions such as the Chinese Academy of Agricultural Sciences, Shandong Academy of Agricultural Sciences and Qilu Normal University gathered in Pingyin to provide insights into and suggestions for the innovative development of the rose industry.
During the event, Pingyin county authorities recognized Miao Baohe, a senior researcher of the Institute of Urban Agriculture at the Chinese Academy of Agricultural Sciences, as the "Taishan Industry Leading Talent", the highest award in Shandong province.
The event also saw the establishment of the newly established Pingyin County Rose Research Institute, the signing of cooperation agreements on technological transfer to rose enterprises, the unveiling of 10 new rose products and the release of cutting-edge technological achievements.
Representatives from over 20 rose enterprises in the county engaged in dialogues and exchanges with experts, discussing the high-quality development of the rose industry in Pingyin.
"Over the next three years, our team will focus on areas such as the deep processing and development of distinctive rose agricultural products, technology transfer, and the research and development of rose cosmetics," said Miao.
Through the transformation of research achievements, efforts will be made to increase the added value of rose products by 4 to 9 times, generating an additional sales revenue of 40 million yuan ($5.6 million) and a profit of 18 million yuan, he added.
