International Conference on Food Loss and Waste to be held in Jinan
The 2025 International Conference on Reducing Food Loss and Waste will take place in Jinan, capital of Shandong province, from July 24 to 26.
Jointly organized by the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Affairs, the National Food and Strategic Reserves Administration, and the Shandong Provincial People's Government, the conference will focus on leveraging technological innovation to reduce food loss and promote global cooperation to enhance food security.
The conference will feature an opening ceremony, a main forum on developing an inclusive food loss governance system, and three sub-forums focusing on innovation and cooperation in food loss reduction, mechanized grain production, and youth engagement in food conservation.
Two major outcomes are expected to be revealed at the event, namely the review of the Jinan Initiative of the International Conference on Food Loss and Security and a cooperation action plan on reducing food loss.
An exhibition will also be held during the conference, showcasing China's, Shandong's, and Jinan's efforts to reduce food loss across the entire supply chain, along with smart agricultural equipment and Shandong’s signature agricultural products.
